Rose Jelly

Hello foodies,

An excellent healthy dessert, served chill and can as well be topped on with other desserts such as ice cream, sorbet, Nestle Cream and Alouda (Mauritian famous cold drink).

Servings: 5-6

Ingredients:

  • 1 packet of Gelatin
  • 5 cups of water
  • 4 tbsp of Rose Syrup (Quantity will depend on your sweetness preferences – I use Sirop Dowlut Rose)

Preparations:

1) Add water and gelatin in a saucepan and bring to a boil on medium heat. Whisk well until gelatin dissolves. It usually takes 3 to 4 minutes.

2) Add Rose syrup and stir well. Stove off once you’ve added the syrup.

3) Pour the liquid into a bowl and allow to cool for 10 minutes. Once done, refrigerate for 1 hour until liquid hardens.
